Every now and then, I have taken a flier on a player from a state that I have NOT spent FSS on when I think they could be useful as is, and hope they will improve. As far as five from different states. . when I've been in the northeast, I buy five states all the time. YOu get the percent discount. . .
Also, if its a long term elite, experienced and successful coach from an elite conference. . . they can end up with a TON of NT money. Add in carryover money, if you have any. Say you are in a conference that has five teams go to the NT, and they play. . fifteen games in the NT between them. That is close to $1,900 per team. Add in caryover, get a bargain or two on a recruit close to you really cheap. . .
and you would be surprised how much money you can have left over.
ANd then add in that if you purchase FSS after signings start, it can be much cheaper.
