Locking up a recruit..... Topic

Guys I have skimmed most of the known posts on recruiting but still have a question. How many dollars does it typically take to get a guy to be "tight" or "high priority."
I'm trying to lock down my class, and keep spending on guys who are just considering me, in an effort to just hold on. Is their a spending threshold for two star, one star, etc? I don't want to waste money if these guys are going to sign, but I also don't like the fact that recruiting stars says they are not a priority for me. Thx in advance!

Hmmm, it depends on the talent of the recruit and your school's prestige, but I think the very tight messages are in the ballpark of 20 home visits of effort.  Maybe 25.

I assume you're talking D1 here?  You didn't say.

The answer to your question is going to vary drastically depending on division.  If you honestly feel like a recruit is in danger of being poached, I would spare no expense throwing HVs at him until he was at least a "strong lean".  But at lower divisions - especially D3 - that's not always possible due to smaller budgets.

Thanks for the tips.  Yes, its my Dl team.  Just trying to find that fine line where they are locked up, but I'm not overspending, I guess if that makes sense.  I am up to 20 HV's on 2 of the recruits and they are not locked up yet, still even getting that they are not a high priority for me.  Will keep working on it, depending on how things go as we get to signing day.  I have alot of cash left and want to stash as much as I can.  Thx.

I've done a lot less than this and had the very tight message

Depends on prestige.  The higher it is the less you need to spend.
