Does anyone have an idea by how much money a (B-) school would have to outspend an (A) school for a local recruit.  Is it even possible?  Lets say both schools are in 100 miles of the recruit.

What division?

Depends on the division. Fairly even in d3 and a little less even in d2. Very doable in either. D1 is a totally different story. Maybe wouldn't have to spend double, but my guess is 60-80% more.

Division 1

According to what I use, a B- school would need to spend between 2.4-2.6 times as much as an A school.

Oh gosh, more than that. Over 2x, exactly how much is a crapshoot depending on how high the B- and A are.

That's true.  You'd know better.  First, I thought he said B and A, so my bad.  Second, for a full letter grade, I thought I remember lostmyth at one point saying it was under 2x, so I always went by that and it seemed right when I was recruiting.  But like I said, you'd know better.

With that being the case.............what is the best way to spend the recruiting dollars?  What % into Evaluations/home visits/campus visits?

A vs. B-

My guess would be the B- would have to spend maybe 2.3 times as much.  Hard to say.  Promises by the A school could bring that ratio up to 2.5 maybe, and promises by the B school only might get it into the 2.1 area.
