question about resignability Topic

1) If an impending free agent refuses to sign an extension with his team, and I trade for him, is it possible for him to sign an extension with me?  If possible, how likely is he to decide to extend with me?

2)  is it possible to predict (beforehand) whether a player, once he hits his last year in the contract, is likely to sign an extension or not?  I hear people mention a loyalty rating (like that of a coach) for a player, but I can't find it.

1) It's possible but unlikely.   I've only seen it happen if the player takes a ratings hit after rollover.
2) It's largely based on overall and patience.   Not real sure about the numbers required.

the only situation where I can think of 1) happening is where a player gets arb'ed 3 times by a team and traded to another team.

somebody should experiment to see if that does anything.

to tack on a question, if I arb a player 3 times, is it for sure he'll refuse to sign an extension with me?
