DITR = Diamond in the rough. They show up after the all star break.

Don't worry its a wotrthless part of the game. Yet they decided to spend time a server space on a whole report about them.

Was that sarcastic?  I don't see anything different.  What happened to the current ratings bump?  Did I misread what they said they were going to do?

have to look at the current, and compare it with the last line item.  Kind of nice to have it done that way actually, as it tells you how much of a current bump they actually got.

That Malone dude better get a whole better IRT his pitch calling.  As it stands now he is 22 yrs old, and his bat is very underwhelming for anything less then an all 80s defensively catcher.

But I know the real point was to show that there are decent current ratings boosts happening.  Pretty sweet, my first new ditr will be happening in about a week from now.  Cant wait to see if any of them become legit BL players!

to actually answer your questions, they are players that get an unexpected bump in their projected (and now current) ratings after the all-star break.  It is designed to add some sort of unpredictability in the development of players.  On the very very rare occasion (like once every ten seasons for the entire league) you may see a former 6th round pick turn into a serviceable ML player.  Some people feel that every team should see a DiTR turn into an All-Star every time it happens, so they get ****** that they have never had one turn out.  I on the other hand feel that it should be a rare event and am glad to see that it doesn't happen all the time.  It's something to look forward to every mid-season and I treat it like the lottery - I have no grand illusions of winning it every time I buy a ticket, but it is fun to feel a little suspense while scratching it off.

Yes.  And they should change the diamond logo to this -

How bout bmp in an average pkayer to a star pkayer? That's a diamond in the rough! Not a lows catcher who can now stick around the suck in AAA!

Why can't a ratings boost simply be a product of managing your minors well?  ( Which, for some reason people absolutely refuse to do . )  If you decide your LoA team should be 4-140, no "diamonds" for you.  If you manage to go 134-10, as a product of good managing, coaching and playing time, one or two players can improve beyond their projections and be a pleasant surprise.
