where to play him? Topic

about to start the new season in Rupp.  Have to decide where to play this guy.   Have a good SF already, so can't go there.  Either PG or SG, but I don't know which.  Per is not great, and BH and Pass are not elite either.   I'm thinking maybe I just play him against the opponent's best guard and let that decide for me.  Any advice which would be better?
Thanks

He definitely looks like a good SG to me - ATH and SPD can go a long way at that position. I don't like his PAS or BH for the PG position.

I agree with bbunch. Go with him at the 2, his BH/PAS aren't high enough at the 1. Much better at SG.

milk, if Fleming is the SF you reference, he IS a good player. And I agree Wehrle's best position is SG. But that's considering no other factors. And since you play man, I advise you to consider the SG/SF matchups each game when placing Fleming and Wehrle. In other words, if you play a team with a high scoring SF and a SG that's not too dangerous, it will likely be better to get Werhle on the scorer. Fleming can play SG pretty well, too. And so even though it will be slightly less than optimum on offense, you will likely gain much more on defense. Now matchups being what they are in HD, Wehrle won't always shut down the scorere, but he'll tend to make the opponent's offense less efficient on a pretty consistent basis. Nice team, and good luck.

milk, just looked at your team again, and I noticed its serious lack of PG with BH/PA. You may need to move Wehrle or Fleming there, depending on matchups (as described above) and opponent and its defense (especially if it's press). If one of your PGs has very high BH potential, he may be able to take over later in the season, but as of now, playing sub-50 guys at PG is asking for trouble.

Thanks for the input.  Stutz has high in BH and Pass, but it will probably take all of this year for him to get those ratings up to where Wehrle's already are.   Gonna use the 2 exhibition games to try him at both spots and see which works better.   I like the idea of him at SF, would make my frontcourt defense amazing, but was thinking Fleming's ath and sp weren't good enough for SG.
