Redshirting an Ineligible? Topic

Can you redshirt an ineligible player? By that I dont mean during their ineligible season, but could you in subsequent seasons and they would still play there for 4 years?

if you try you'll get a message saying that a player only has 4 years of eligibility than must be used within 5 seasons or something like that

Oh ok thanks guys...I had seen the redshirt option next to an ineligible before but I thought what you guys are saying might have been the case
