i've made some mistakes with my team the last couple seasons (all in being too agressive in recruiting) which has left me not exactly knowing what to do going into next season.

i think i know who my best players are, but i'm not exactly sure where to use them, how to use them, or whick positions to actually recruit.

here is my imaginary lineup for next season (assuming i don't get some amazing recruit that deserves to start.

pg - turpin/?/recruit?
sg - ellison/johnson?/sullivan?/recruit?
sf - madrid/ johnson?/recruit?
pf - brown/engels
c - d. brown/?

really where i know i've screwed up is in my guard recruiting, and having too many small forwards (took them all as 4 star recruits within 10 miles, seemed like a great idea at the time). this season was a throwaway, just didn't have the talent or the bench due to my crappy recruiting. but i think with ellison/madrid/johnson/brown/brown i can try and make a PI run next year. but to do so I need help/.

if anyone can find the time to give me an outside perspective of what i should focus on in recruiting, or how to use johnson feel free to post it here or sitemail me.

thank you in advance.

Recruit for defense

I would play Ellison (who is going to get better) at PG with turpin as his backup

Johnson, SG, make your abundance of SF type guys an advantage, with a defensive stopper recruit

SF/PF - I did not study long enough, but Madrid and one, Jason Brown at the other, whoever long term will have the most LP and REB playing PF

C - D Brown

Recruit a defensive stopper at either PF or C, and play engels at the other spot, with higher distro than the defensive stopper

that leaves sullivan as the 10th man and backup sf, if he does not have def / rebounding up side, consider cutting him?????

I really like your team - lots of flexibility. I would address each game separately and possibly alter the lineup based on matchups ( I know you are a zone - but the other guys are freq M2M). That said, I like a base lineup of:

PG: Turpin/Ellison
SG: Johnson/Sullivan (I'd cut Sullivan if I could replace him with someone better unless he's like HH def)
SF: Madrid/Engels
PF: Jason Brown/Engels/recruit
C: Donald Brown/Engels/recruit

I would recruit only green potential defenders with a stat value of 40 or above. Look for some mobile bigs or high reb pot sfs to backup your bigs/sf. If you found 2 good bigs/rebounding SF recruits and 1 good guard and took a walkon you'd be in good shape.

*OR knows a hell of a lot more than I do.
