I have regularly used 1B and 3B in the outfield in progressives with very good results.  
Most recent was the 61 Joe Adcock who played the entire year, 162 games,  in RF.  
He was A/D- at 1B with no rating in the OF.
Regular season fielding stats 973 Fld Pct 1.67 Range Factor.   7 errors and 14+ plays and 0 - plays in over 1300 innings.
Joe also won the Gold Glove in RF.

14 + plays from a D- ranger playing out of position?  Sorry, had to look that one up, and found that Adcock's actual 1B ratings in 1961 are B/A+.  Still pretty impressive, though.
Just learned something interesting about when you select previous years in a current league.   When you click on the team to pull up the team stats it pulls up the selected years stats, however if you click on one of the players names in those stats it doesn't bring up the matching year of that player but rather the current year.
