This will be my first draft. Is it a live draft Do we have time limit to make selection.  Would like some information how it works. I am learning as I go

It's not live.  You make a list and you're assigned the highest player on your list when it's your pick, as long as it goes with you're draft settings (Very Conservative, Conservative, etc) for that round.  It all happens on one cycle.

You should go to your draft settings page, look around and ask specific questions here about those things you don't understand. Also, manually ranking your players on the draft prospects page is very, very important. In a nutshell, drop down the players you don't want and move up the players you do.

I am new to this . I just got one player out of 50 that I ranked before draft. Is that usually how draft goes or did I not rank the players I wanted the right way

Sounds like you may have messed something up.  Your first 5 picks were at 3, 70, 102, 134 and 166.  I would expect to get three, maybe four of your top 50 rankees drafting at those positions.
