doesn't matter in the long run.

Don't wait until spring training, promote before rollover. But if you do wait it does not matter when during spring training you promote.

i do promote at the end of the season but i have a player in aa who is going to majors this season so was wondering if people knew if you would get a greater increase if i waited til towards the end of st.

whats the difference between before rollover or before/during ST?

If you do it before rollover, it reduces the number of minor league retirements.

I have never promoted from AA to the majors in spring training (though I cannot imagine it would be different than other promotions), but from AAA to the majors I have noticed no difference between early, mid and lat spring training promotions. Just so long as they play as much as possible during spring training to get that extra ratings bump, I think the timing of the promotion is irrelevant.

I do mL promotions before rollover and I do ML promotions after spring training. If you do it during or before ST you won't see a ratings bump. If you believe its just a "snapshot" thats fine and you can promote anytime, but I'm a bit skeptical based on what I see and prefer to promote when I'll see the bump.

A good reason to not do ML promotions until after ST is because of injuries.  You don't want to promote a guy to the ML roster and then have him get injured in ST.  If that happens, he's accruing his initial ML service time while on the DL.

what i am going to do is promote from AA to AAA during st just wasn't sure if i would get a bigger push if i waited til towards the end of st. then after game 20 of reg. season going to promote him from AAA to the majors
