From just a defensive standpoint, I'm going player 2 because of his ATH. Player one is the better all around guy, though, so really you should roll with him.

Definitely #1 unless we play each other...then you should get #2

This is really interesting, because I read it almost the opposite.

I took player 1 to be the better defensive guy (I value SB a lot in big guys in zone), but thought player 2 might be a more versatile (better) player overall.

See, I don't look much at SB, but the difference for me is the ATH/SPD combo. Their defensive stats are very close, and I guess it comes down to personal preference.

The part I find interesting is that you see player 2 as a better all around player, so I assume you mean he's better on offense than number 1. What am I missing there?

I think the ATH/SPD combo plus the inside/outside options for Player 2 may make him a tougher matchup for the opposing team's 4/5 to guard.

Okay, that outside option would make sense, and I guess it the. Depends on the offense for me. If player 1 could always be in the low post, then I would without a doubt choose him. But if you're running motion, it would be more up in the air (although I'd still probably start #1, but give #2 plenty of minutes off the bench.

#1.  I don't think there's a whole heck of a lot of difference between 1 and 35 PER, and that's the only major advantage of #2.

I'd say player 1 is more of a sure thing at the 4/5 spot, while player 2 has the chance to be a very good all-around player, ideally at the three spot

id take #2 just because i don't like guys that could cap out below 50 ath and because he could probably play 3 positions...but if you're strictly looking for a 4/5 guy, player #1 is probably the sure thing as usc4life says

I'm surprised you even know the potential of player #1. I thought you just try to recruit whoever I have been recruiting on the assumption that the player would be good...

There are only so many recruits in that state. You can't just claim all of them for yourself and then later on decide which ones you want, leaving the rest to JUCO.

So far, it is looking like Player #1 was the answer. To be fair, Player #2 was red-shirted, but I still don't expect him to end up nearly as productive as Player #1, because his High ratings (so far) weren't nearly as good.
