Is this a legal contract? Topic

For some reason the help file confuses me when figuring out contracts with uneven dollar amounts that include a signing bonus.  I have tried to figure them out in the past but often get the an invalid contract offering (I seem to remember getting confused on the term total contract value and its use within the help file, though maybe I am misremembering).

So is this a valid offer for a player demanding 5 years and $6.5mm a year:

Bonus: $10mm
Year 1: $5.625mm
Year 2: $5.625mm
Year 3: $5.625mm
Year 4: $3.375mm
Year 5: $2.25mm

If that isn't, is this?

Bonus: $10mm
Year 1: $8.125mm
Year 2: $4.375mm
Year 3: $3.25mm
Year 4: $3.25mm
Year 5: $3.25mm

If neither are can someone run through the calculation.

"In a five-year contract, no season can comprise more than 25% or less than 10% of the total value of the contract."

The denominator for the above calculation does not include the bonus.  So with a $10M bonus, you are trying to offer $22.5M total in the salary portion, and therefore may not offer less than $2.25M nor more than $5.625M in any season.  So Contract 1 works, and contract 2 (which incidentally is $250K short of his demands) does not.
