I'm considering trading for a guy who's in the last year of his contract, but when I asked the other owner what he wants to re-sign, I was told that the player wants to test the FA waters.....if I trade for him, is there a possibility this will change or will he leave me??---then I be out the guy and the prospects it took to get him for 1/2 the season.....

not sure what the factors are here....he's got 62 patience....was arb'd twice by other owner.....

any thoughts here??

I think he's as good as gone.

I have seen plenty of players refuse to re-sign with their current team and after a trade turn around and sign long term with the new franchise.Actually I have purposely traded for players in just this situation and had them sign a long term deal immediately after the trade.
