Signing your own transfer Topic

Two years ago: Northwestern wins a battle to sign a talented SG from Verden, Oklahoma.
This offseason: The SG decides to transfer and goes back home to Verden while he looks for a new school.  Meanwhile, Northwestern's coach accepts a job offer from the University of Texas.

Sure, it's outside 360 miles (barely) , but UT is 500 miles closer to this guy's parents' house than NU was.  So my question is -

Is there something built into the code that will keep UT from signing/pursuing the player?  I know that if Northwestern tried to recruit him, he'd laugh - but what about the same coach at a different school?

I would hope there wasn't because there have been instances in real life of a player following a coach by transferring.

But probably not because he quit the team because of no PT :)

Yeah, that's the thing - the player quit BEFORE the coach left, not the other way around.

Exactly.

But I would bet a large GC that what's written into the code is purely tied to not re-signing with the same school, and nothing about the coach. I'd be wondering if js was gonna go after him (and pretty much expecting he would).

Sign him and make him sit the bench again. That will be payback for the nasty letter he sent to you at the end of last season.
