How fair would it be to the other teams in a weak division if a stronger team was realigned into it?  You might be happy but the other three owners might not because the deck would now be intentionally stacked against them.

Yeah, I don't like this. Why should this occur? The stacked division might be the funnest to play in, and present the most challenge. What if the division is the only reason they are staying?

This will never happen.

The also comes across as "I can't compete in this division, I want to make the game easier for me".

Way to take an original angle, didn't see that coming when I posted.

Clearly if two teams are dynasties both finishing with 110+ wins, it is not a matter of 'one team can't compete'.

Who would want a 110 win team taking the place of an 80 win team in their division?    And what 80 win team would want to move to a division with a 110 win team?

Like I said it was a half-baked idea.

Thats why you'd either need a league vote like hall of fame, or a commish only vote.

If MLB goes to old school divisions, with an updated playoff format, HBD should make a similar change. AL with 16 teams, and NL with 16 team. Top 4 teams get a bye, while 4 teams battle it out in the first round. That gives half of the HBD world getting a chance at the post season.

And that's an absolutely terrible idea. There is nothing worse than a watered down post season and allowing half of the world to make the playoffs is a joke. Take the NBA. Over half the NBA teams makes the playoffs. There is no importance to the regular season and you get numerous garbage teams that get into the playoffs. It's horrible.

The math doesn't even work.

4 teams play in the first round while 4 wait.   2 are elminated, 6 are left.    Now what?
