Coach, Sherrard won't miss any time due to his fractured ankle. I'd say he's around 50% right now.

My recommendation would be to sit him and let's see how he recovers. Putting him out there now could lead to another injury and I'm not even sure how effective he'd be.

He's below 60 percent, so my understanding of the recent changes is that he won't "expect" to start/get his minutes (assuming you've made a promise) until he gets above that percentage.

rednu is correct. At 60% he will expect to play. If you've started him all year you do have a little wiggle room, and unless you can hide him at the end of the bench so he gets limited minutes i'd wait til he got 75% or so (assuming he imrpoves around 5 pts/day)

Im not really concerned so much about the minutes because hes a soph thats been getting 14 min of PT but I just thought the message was a little odd. A fractured ankle but the trainer says he won't miss any time? That doesn't add up.

Yeah I thought it was weird too....

Wont miss time straight to sit and wait? What?

What's the line for injury and FR start promises? Is it 80%?

What kind of production can you expect when he reaches 60%, and onward?  Won't take much research to figure out why I'm asking.

anyone know if I can rest a player that is injured and at 60%?

hes only offered the FR start, no PT promise. So it's safe to rest him till 100%?

once he gets to 60% he expects to play, so any games he rests from 60-100% will count against his starting promise. You have a little wiggle room under the 80% (of games) or whatever it is to meet the promise, but you'll probably have to play him at less than 100% to avoid complaints or maybe problems.

I wonder if you could start him and put him on mop up at the same time. Would he play till the first break and then sit out the rest of the game?

he won't start if he is on mop up
