Signing type A and losing draft pick Topic

I know if I sign a type "A" FA I will lose my first pick over slot 16.  If my first pick over 16 is one I was awarded due to last year's first rounder not signing do I lose that pick?

No. Type D compensation picks are not sacrificed by signing a Type A free agent.
