waht's the best way to make someone quit? Topic

looking to make my RSFR or SO quit the team without having to drop him... is it better to RS and **** him off or try and get him to only play a minute or two a game?

Definitely the latter, but it's hard and always a crapshoot at best...

If you RS he won't leave, he'll just have his WE bottom out and be a suckier senior than he was already going to be.  Of course, even with the "don't play him" path the same thing is the most likely outcome, but it won't be nearly as ugly and it gives you your best shot at having him give it up and move on...

I have long thought it would be fun to a have a dropdown menu of ways to get a guy to quit - aside from redshirt, playing time etc

a. assign player to wash uniforms

b.  move family tickets to upper level - by mistake

c.  sir, you owe me 100 suicides

d. cancel recruiting visit to see 10th grade cousin play

e. cuss out player at practice

f. choke player at practice (available ONLY in Knight)

I once got a message from a guy saying he would leave the team next year, and then he came back :(

I've never been successful in getting a player to quit.  I know they do sometimes, but I've never had one do it ever, even when I tried.  I'd say your best shot is to play him 1-2 mpg if you can, but as a sophomore he may still take that with only a WE hit and some grumbling.  Good luck, and if you are successful please share your technique.
