I was under the impression that DITRs were only players with 0-3 yrs pro experience, but my support ticket response was that pro years are not taken into consideration at all. Did I just miss the boat, or is this not what was thought?

I have had DitRs with 5 pro seasons.  I used to think you had to be 23 or less, but I have now started to see 24 yo DitRs.
