it depends. Informing has a negative recruiting value that I believe varies depending on the recruit. If you inform and offer some HVs at the same time it can help. If you informed and he is still considering you after the next cycle you should be ok. The thing you need to look at his the most recent scholarship message - that's the important thing...

it also means that you have less of a lead than you did before you informed of RS - so if someone else comes along might be easier for them to take him away - so long as he is considering only you and the schollie is still pending, you will get him
