I haven't seen much discussion about double teams, is anyone having any success with it?? I ask because I've had 2 instances this season where I've DT'd a guy and he has still had what I would say was a very productive game, one even "split the double team" to bury a game winning 3 with a couple seconds left on the clock.

I had a game where I won and double teamed two guys and they both scored big amounts like they usually do and I was surprised by the shooting percentage they had. http://www.whatifsports.com/hd/GameResults/BoxScore.aspx?gid=7860095

I always double team the guy with the combo of best off%, % of shots made, and PPG. Works fairly well. Check out the way I beat a very good Union team with my Keuka squad 2 of 3 times. Double-teamed their top 2 options, not just #1. I tried switching things up in the CT, didnt work out.

Doubleteams work but in my opinion you should really use them sparingly or in certain situatuations like when you see that one player is getting 25%+ distro a DT might me in order. I personally like DT if leading scorer in games I'm not sure of like when a team may have one or two per shooters and I want to go - in my positioning but want to bother those per guys who may have a field day because of my positioning. So far it has worked for my team but there are those players who have the iq the BH the PA and they can hurt you more when you DT them so I'd just say look at all the ratings and be careful before you DT especially DT always.

Hmmm ... I saw practically no dt's at all in your wins over Union.

In general, you are dt'ing too much. (My guess is far too much, but I would have to look harder to be more certain about that.)

(I think this is a good example of confusing whether you are winning because of something or in spite of it, which happens a lot around these parts. You inherited someone else's schedule and played almost no good teams all year {almost entirely sims}. It probably didn't matter what you did as far as dt's, you were going to win regardless 90% of the time.)

Here's a situation where the double team seemed to make a difference:

  St. Francis   Montana St.
00:05   75-74 Arden Powell steps in front of the Joe Webber pass as he passes out of a doubleteam
00:01 Ronald Keels lays it in set up by Arden Powell 77-74

I sometimes use a DT defensively.  For example, if I have decided to play a minus defense against someone who doesn't shoot many three, nonetheless I might slap a "If leading scorer' double team on their best perimeter shooter, just in case they had decided to load up on him.  Then, if they don't, the dt takes little effect, but if they do there is a bit of a safety net.

Anyone use a DT to routinely attack an opponent's worst ballhandler/passer rather than a leading scoring type? (I realize the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive)

Just curious if the DT is perhaps a more effective tool at forcing turnovers rather than stopping scoring.
