PA & IP Help for Safeco $120M Topic

It's been too long since I've done this...How many PA and IP do I need to make it through a season with Safeco? I feel like 1,200 IP and 4,500 PA were the numbers, but I'm not 100% sure. $120M cap

if there's no AAA you'll be in a lot of trouble with those numbers. at $120m you need about 1450 innings, maybe a little less for safeco but surely more than 1400. PA about the same as $80m maybe a little less, much more if DH is used. if there is AAA it depends on what quality of AAA. 1200ip is too light for $120M with average AAA.

No AAA, No DH, forgot about that. So 1450 and you think 5000 on the PAs?

I think 1350 would be enough. I'm in a 140M league in municipal stadium with 1471 IP and I'm not having any problems.

What about in an $80mil league. How many IP?

Depends how good your defense is and how high quality your pitching is. There is no “number”

Ball park it.

Depends if it’s an open 120 mil league, or if it’s a restriction theme 120 mil league.

I feel 1350 might be too low and 1450 is too high.

Since it’s Safeco, I’d lean towards 1350, but that’s a little ballsy, and I’d give massive props if you went thru a full season with that.

Think 1385-1390 is about what you want if it’s a theme league with restrictions at Safeco, and maybe 10-15 more innings if there’s no restrictions whatsoever

edit: I play a lot of 110-120 mil twist leagues. I’m usually in the range of 1380-1420 IP, really just depends on the rosters I’m twisting. If you’re not yet comfortable playing with fatigue, I’d go with rbow’s answer of atleast 1400, but I feel 1450 is a waste and that money could go elsewhere.

Sorry kneeneighbor, I’ve never played a progressive before and I have very little experience with OLs. I’m not the guy to ask. I might make an OL team just to try it out again, but for now, there’s a lot better owners than me with a lot better advice for lower cap leagues.

1,450 is definitely not a waste as it allows you to bank a small amount of innings from your best quality pitchers for the postseason.

There is no ballpark number. I've won WS at 120M with as many as 1,510 innings. You just need to weigh quality of pitching and defense against your ballpark.

Agree, there isn't a ballpark number. Safeco will save you pitches compared to a neutral or plus stadium. The big "but" is if your fielders can't steal some hits with + plays (or worse, yield a lot of - plays), you'll need to staff up for a higher pitch count. As a general rule of thumb (and depending on the composition of the staff), you can rest assured w/ 1400-1450 IPs, especially w/ low bb/9# guys. 1200 is out-of-the-question low IMO. A lot of your staff's success will depend on the quality of your opponent's teams. In my mind, I REALLY dislike trying to manage around a tired staff. Don't forget about in-game fatigue either, although I recognize that's opening up a different topic.

At 1400 you'll survive but probably need to use pitchers a little under 100%. Of course it depends on your defense and the quality of the other teams. Since the salary increases it seems we need more stamina not less. My latest trick is to draft a second Mopup with high ip/g, he starts an early game and again later if needed to keep the arms fresh. 5400 PA unless you have a weak hitting team. at 5000 you'll be looking at low90's stamina which some believe is worth the tradeoff. Unless WW is allowed then you can get by with less.
