What are the best stats to have for your PG,SG,SF,PF, and C? What should you look for when I'm recruiting or setting my starting lineup for my guys to be most effective?

Well, for all of the above, ATH/SPD/DEF for starters.  With Speed first for guards, ath first for posts, and roughly equal with neither low for Small forwards.   Then add in BH and Passing for your guards, and REB and BLK for Posts, then worry about PER and LP, more PER for guards, more LP for posts, SF< whatever it is you are short on.  Generally you probably want at least two players between your two guards and SF which have a respectable PER and two players between your two Posts and SF that have a respectable LP.

Basiically, I often tend to treat the SF as the spot to insert whatever else the rest of the starting lineup is lacking.

Will, it seems like you could benefit from the following 2 links aimed at new coaches:

It looks like you picked up a pretty decent team and play a lot of SIMs this season, which isn't a bad thing as a brand new coach.  It will allow you to experiment a bit (seems like you're already doing that in the exhibition games, so good for you on that).

It looks like you did a decent job of recruiting this year, though I don't the potentials of your new kids.  I'd say recruiting overall ATH and SP should always be a priority, as should getting kids with high potentials in the key categories for the positions they play (REB/LP for bigs, BH/P/PER for guards, etc.).  But recruiting is at least 50% of this game, so when you get some time, do a search on the forums for the keyword "recruit" or "recruiting" and you'll find tons of threads on this crucially important topic.  Also, take a look around in your world at what the A/A+ teams look like.  What areas do they emphasize?  What do their lineups look like?   What sticks out to you in their boxscores?

Feel free to sitemail me if you have any future questions.  You can do this via the "Main" tab on the top of this page.
