BECAUSE I'M ANGRY

Isn't conference prestige just an average of all of individual teams prestige in the conference?  Conference prestige rises and falls as the individual teams prestige in the conference does the same.  At least that has always been my understanding.

There really is no conference prestige as a stand alone rating.  Am i wrong in this?

hmmm.. ok.  So when a recruit says, "my friend thinks I can play in a conference that gets more exposure..." that has nothing to do with conference prestige?

Maybe I'm daft... but I've never seen that once in HD, and if I did, it would not be in real relation to the conference- it's your team's prestige if it says it.

NO THATS JUST A CANNED RESPONSE

there are a bunch of replies that mean that the kid is not convinced - the exact words are just CosMetIC.  It doeNT mATTTER whether his MOM likes the school COLors or whether someone IS giving HIM a CHance to mAKE a name FOR himseLF or some friend or FAMLY member things that HE could get more exposure - those are just negative or positive spin and should be read as noMORE

Yep.  And conference prestige is a straight average of the 12 members prestige.

as a d2 coach, i rarely, if ever, look @ conference prestige. but from reading enough forum discussions, how does the conf prestige = the conf teams' average, if a team's prestige can be lowered or raised by the conf prestige? see, e.g., http://whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?TopicID=451575&TopicsTimeframe=30&TopicsPage=3

conference prestige can only affect a member teams prestige in D1.
