Does anyone use the specialists with any success?

If you're facing a very heavy righty based team with one elite lefty bat and you have a few righty specialists, would you consider putting all your relievers on RSpecial, and increasing intentional walks?

Ive always found the specialists limits my pitchers to too few innings but maybe its time to give it another try.

Ive tried it, and it was simple crap, those Ps will never get enough IPs.  I believe its something that WIS should address, because as it stands now its about the most useless in game feature there is.

Specialists = useless under the current system.

Hey guys, Lefty or righty specialists are design to come in and get out one or two batters in a hairy situation. That's it. They don't eat innings. They come in late in games to get out the big lefty bat or righty . Don't you guys know what the term means.   

I only use it in playoff or other big games.  If my opponent has two stud lefties in the middle of their line-up, I'll set my LHS to 10 pitches to work those two hitters if the game is close late.

Thanks for explaining that term to me, I seriously had no idea.

Do you use them to shave that hairy situation? I know that WHENEVER I have set a lefty or righty specialists, they get tapped to come in and get an out 1 out of every 20 games or so. And of that 1 out of 20 games, 50% of the time it is not the correct matchup.

I would say 8-10 appearances a season with 8-20 batters faced useless over the course of a 162 games season.

RHS for three seasons.   A bit more than 8-10 appearances.

FWIW, you're pretty much dead on for LHS.  They never pitch.
