I think that was the intention of the coach, but some real life stuff happened and he wasn't able to recruit. He actually had a pretty good recruit considering him, but never signed because he wasn't available to do anything after the first cycle in recruiting.

I'm sure the coach has been trying hard, but got all his star players poached away by.....oh wait this is Phelan.
Maybe he thought that so many successful coaches were taking multiple walkons he figured he'd try a whole team full of them.

Hey Bowman haha this isnt a Phelan diss thread!  Yea the guy just didnt recruit because he was busy.  If he doesnt renew I might take that job.
