I'm a bit upset this morning, but I'm not blaming anyone but HD for this.
I spent last season subbing for a friend on his Iba Martin Luther team. He had a nice squad, an A prestige and we had agreed that he would let his subscription expire so I could claim the team.
He contacted CS, and of course they said there was no way for him to just transfer the team directly to me. I had to go through the reservation process.
The notice I received said that job applications would open last night at 11:01 PM central (my time), or 12:01 Eastern. I was on the site precisely on time pressing "Refresh" and eventually got the button to light up "Join Waiting List". So I did. Now I'm confused because no time was given for actually reserving a job. I went to bed.
I woke up at 1:30 AM and on the way to the bathroom checked jobs again - still no activity. Back to bed.
At 5:00 I was up again and NOW, jobs were open and someone had grabbed Martin Luther! There was an email waiting for me, time stamped 1:50 AM (20 minutes after I went to the bathroom) telling me jobs were open. And of course I didn't have Gmail send notices to my phone so I could wake up again.
I'm not going to blame the guy who grabbed ML - it was an enticing target with its A prestige and solid roster. But I AM questioning the logic that refuses to allow us to transfer teams AND then turns around and rolls the server over at godawful-oh-dark-thirty in the AM when even nightowls are asleep.
Frustrating and maddening. I had promised my buddy I would keep his run going at ML. Whether the new guy can do it, I don't know. My ire is directed at HD for having such a Byzantine job application process.
