Projections change after injury? Topic

Hey there sports fans-

Quick question, if a guy goes down with a serious injury insofar that he'll never be quite the same (thinking knee or elbow blowout) do his projections you see change immediately, or will they be adjusted next season?

Yeah the ratings will be affected immediately with the time of injury line.  Theres no way of telling what he could recover to.  The higher the makeup, the better potential for making up the lost points.

Projected ratings don't change.  But if a guy has a big injury, you can be sure that his chances of making his projections become slimmer.

The only time projections will change in-season is if a particular rating gets exceeded.

So a 22 y/o player blows out his knee, his range rating will plummet, but his projected range rating will stay the same until next season?  Right?

Yes.

Correct answer is maybe, maybe not. I've seen projected ratings change in-season many times.

Hmm.  In my 71 seasons, I've never seen projected ratings change in-season, except in the way mentioned by tecwrg.

SInce players over age 27 don't have projections (they're just the current ratings listed as projections), then you could see players over 27 appear to have projections change in-season due to progression, decline, or injury.

But players under age 27 - no, they do not change unless a rating is exceeded.
