just curious, thinking about making the plunge.  how many worlds are there? how many ppl play in each world about?

I believe there are about 12 worlds. I only play in two of them, so I can only comment on Wooden and Knight. But I believe there are about 450 people in each world. Wooden has the most active D3 (probably of any world) and Knight's D1 is relatively active.

Don't quote me on those numbers though...too busy/lazy to look them up.

A little over a year ago, I started in GD, liked it. Finally decided after a while to join HD. Had an uneventful first year and first recruiting class. Moved to D2 and I'm completely hooked. I've since added a 2nd team in D3 and I'm an HDer for the foreseeable future!

I'm in D2 Smith and D3 Naismith - D3 Naismith is very competitive and active, according to the vets, it's one of the top D3 worlds to be in and 2 years into the world, I can definitely see that!

there are 7 one game a day worlds and 3 two game a day worlds. I don't know the population data though.

I think there are about 5000 human coached teams through 10 worlds.  I know a bunch are doubles, so maybe 2000 people?  3000?  Something like that.

In Naismith:

D3: 193 human coaches
D2: 167 human coaches
D1: 143 human coaches

I highly recommend Naismith D3. We are a few days from the season ending so you'd be able to start recruiting in about a week.

And I echo bdpoor's thoughts about checking out the CCIW. We have a great group with human coaches in 8 of our 12 spots right now, and we were 3rd in conference RPI this season. But we aren't to the level of the "super conferences" where it takes several years to build a winning team.
