In case you cant see. We're looking at a pitcher with roughly 90 control, 35-40 splits, 98 vel, 98 gb, pitches of 90,85,80

In Hi A :)

There's a reason why he was left unprotected in R5.

Considering his relative success at every level he's played, I'd have no problem giving him a shot as a LRB or Mopup guy if I wasnt trying to contend.

Well, if the ratings were actually as good as you posted, I'd guess at maybe a 5.00ERA. Somebody I'd try out. But the guy in the link isn't that good. He's done developing.

If his splits were mid 40s maybe.
Low 30s probably not.

66th overall pick ... wow...

Yeah, done developing.  And this, a question from a guy in my league that professes to be very experienced, although with a new handle due to unforeseen things.

LMFAO.  Ellaflamingo.

A new handle? Sorry only ever used this name. I don't hide behind a fake name and tell people I will come to their door and beat them up.

As for asking questions about rare player types, if you don't see the benefits of the forums other than to launch your I lost my ball campaigns than you are just as moronic as you sound everytime you post in our league.

I'd take a chance on him as a mop-up guy and give him some garbage innings just to see what happens.

I would expect an ERA over 5.00 though. Even with the great GB/FB ratio I bet he will still give up a lot of home runs due to those crappy splits.

He is an SP2 on hoggetts team.  Yeah the same guy that WC'd that this is a  new handle due to computer malfunctions.

Elaflamingo!

I think the ratings you posted could have a role on an ML team (although, I think you'd want the splits, or at least the RH one, to be closer to 50), but the player you posted is not that guy.  His splits are low 30's and not getting much higher, his control might make 90, but more likely 88 or 89, his pitchers are 81, 79, 53, 66, 45 and not getting much better (not 90, 85, 80), his GB/FB is 90 and not going to get better.
This guy Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Brian Dickerson is who I thought of when I first saw this thread, but he has much better pitches, better control and has that 50+ righty split.  He's fine to have as a 4th or 5th starter.  The guy you posted I could only see as a September call-up mopup type guy.

Think of splits as pitch movement.

High splits, the pitch has a lot of movement in the zone, the hitter has trouble hitting the ball squarely.

Low splits, the pitch has little movement in the zone.  Much easier to hit for a good hitter.

High control and low splits . . . . the pitch will be going right down the middle of the plate every time.  Hitters can tee off on that.  He'll get cxrushed on a consistent basis.

High control is the pitchers ability to locate his pitches...it does not mean "right down the middle". That would actually be a problem for low control pitchers. All that being said. The guy posted is a AAA guy at best....but hey if you're out of it or way out in front bring him up and eat some innings. I think he'd have trouble having a WHIP under 1.5 in the bigs.

Surely there are better options. Using him in the majors, even for 20 games might stir up some whispers of "tanking"
