it seems that big men (pf's and c's) are grossly unrepresented in the scoring leaders in any division in knight (see below). is this the norm across all worlds or something novel in knight this one season?

These numbers are below average, but in general you see more guards and SFs up there.  I'd say the average would be more like 5-7 big men in the top 25.

Last season I gave my big man more than 20% of the distro and he still only averaged 15.6 PPG despite shooting well over 50% from the field and at times it seemed there would be long stretches where he didnt get a shot. My second leading scorer, the PG, only had 12% of the distro and he still had over 12 points a game. On my other team I gave my PG the same amount of distro (over 20%) and he ended up scoring 22.5 PPG and had no trouble getting shots.

Comparing the two, with the same distro and about the same numbers comparatively for the rest of the teams, the PG for team 2 took 496 shots while playing 939 (.52 shots per minute) minutes and the C for team took 330 shot in 719 minutes (.45 shots per minute).

The game definitely favors guards for scoring.

PGs in particular can just bring the ball up and shoot.  (Not every time, of course, they're involved in set plays run through the offense, etc.) Once you start running plays for big men you introduce more opportunities for turnovers through the extra passing and dribbling to get the ball to them.  You just get more turnovers running plays for big men than running plays for guards, and I think that's part of it.

That said, it does seem harder than it should be to get big men their shots at times.

Another issue in WIS DI is that PFs/Cs are far more likely to go early entry than PGs/SGs -- I certainly err on the side of giving my guards more distro than my bigs for that reason.  I'd predict other coaches do the same.

that skews the numbers if we're expecting to see 40% guards, 40% centers and 10% centers.

Watching the BigEast this season there were dozens of games where 7 of the 10 starters were listed as guards.  A few even with 8 guards out of the 10 starters.   I would guess there are about 5 (of 16) conference teams that actually list a center among their starters.

A lot of teams wont even list a center (especially the smaller schools). Theyll have a lineup that G,G,G,F,F.
