ever take a redshirt??

He's already signed. 

What are the chances?

Slim and none?

And what would be a sound strategy as to when to apply the redshirt. 

If i just don't play him (and redshirt like after game 20), will his WE go down? I have done this with Freshman before and had no WE loss, but never with a highly ranked recruit. Uncharted water for me.

I got the #20 SG to take a RS without informing him during recruiting.

I believe I've tried nearly everything the book, not putting a player on the depth chart, waiting until after exhibition, waiting until after non-conference before trying. So on and so forth and haven't noticed a higher or lower success rate of the player accepting the RS. I believe it's just dumb luck whether they take it or not, but someone else may have found the correct code.

I have never had a  player reject a RS, there is way to know if they will take it or not, at least in my opinion. 

That is at the D3 and D2 level, I haven't been in D1 in quite a long time, so not sure if it would be the same thing there.
