Help- Strategy for falling well below your cap Topic

I recently joined a random 100 cap league, but with the random pool of players I received I'm unable to spend 100 mm without going over what I need in IP and PA.  To be more specific, I have about 6mm surplus after making the best possible team I could with 5300+ PA and over 1500 IP.

What can I do to make the best team I can?  I considered playing in a + ballpark so that I actually use the excess PA and IP I end up buying, but I'm not convinced that this is going to give me a better chance to win each game, even though it might exhaust my opponents.

Does anyone have any team building suggestions or a strategy for situations like this?

1. Don't be too concerned about hitting the cap exactly.  In these random leagues I often find that people try too hard to get to $99.9m.  Often one of the lower salaried teams wins.
2. Pick the best players for your team.  If you have a choice between a 50IP reliever you would actually use for $1m and a 250IP mop-up scrub for $3.5m pick the reliever.
3. Pick the best stadium for your team.  Only go for a big + stadium if you think you will have a high average/HR team.  I find in these leagues everyone carries extra PAs/IP so a fatigue-based strategy would not be successful.

You may want to consider setting everyone's rest to 99% (since u will have more than enough IP and PA).

Draft the best team possible, don't worry about hitting the cap. When I play a $255m league, I usually field a team between $190-220m and I've never failed to make the playoffs.

Can you make trades? A few extra innings and PAs might not hurt if that's the case. But otherwise, yeah, just draft the best talent you can and hope for the best.
