Can someone please explain how the player rest works.
Example

Catcher

1. A   2 B   3 C

Will A come in to replace anyone playing Catcher, or because A is listed at one that means hes replaced by anyone behind him whose available?

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
While booger's post is confusing, my will not be.

Catcher A is starting.  Catcher A is also set first on rest.

He will be replaced by Catcher B, who is #2 on rest, if the rest setting situation applies.

It doesn't make the most sense but that's how it works.

defensive replacements is the one that makes the least sense. If you have your top defensive ss #1, and your lesser fielder #2, it brings in 2 to replace 1 as a defensive replacement. It really should be a hierarchy where a move is only made if a player higher on the list is available.

If your #1 Def SS is playing SS, it does not replace him with the #2 Def SS when Def Subs are put in.

If your #1 Def SS is playing SS, and Player Rest kicks in, it will replace him if there is another SS in your list of SS under Player Rest who is not playing and is not set to rest.

in my pm game in Shtickless 2, I noticed that I had my catcher that was #2 on the defensive replacement hierarchy come into the game to replace the catcher that is #1 on that hierarchy and the boxscore says it was for defensive replacement. Is this a flaw in the logic..seems to me that if your top defensive player is in the game, he should never be replaced as a "defensive replacement", just for rest.

I'm assuming that you are referring to the 7/28PM game. If not please submit the boxscore you would like me to review.

The player listed as your #1 at Catcher started the game, when the criteria was met to make a defensive replacement it went to the player listed at #2.

No, it was the 7/27 pm game...but the same thing happened in the 7/28 game.

But it would seem to me, logically that if my player I have designated as my best fielder is already in the game, that he would not be replaced defensively by a player below him on the list.

I would think the logic would be if the criteria is met, replace with the highest ranked available player only if ranked higher in the hierarchy that the player currently in the game at that position.

To ensure the results you are hoping to see just turn off defensive replacements or, alternatively, don't set your hierarchy for the position in question.
