NBA College - 200 mil cap, 4 year commitment Topic

Hey guys.

-Draft 12 guys  via a snake style draft
-4 Season League
-200 mil cap, no min or max for any season
-Player season can only be used once throughout 4 years....i.e. if you have Wilt Chamberlain let's say you use 71-72 then 61-62, then 59-60, then 64-65...you don't have to use player seasons in any order.  The players you draft will be exclusive to your team.
-No rookies or WW

Not sure how I'll determine winner of the league...maybe some kind of summation of regular season and playoff wins/championships and we'll go from there.  I'm also thinking that I'll leave 1 "transfer" spot per season open so you can swap a guy you have for an unused guy, again format to be determined.

I'm interested in any and all comments, questions, suggestions, and other feedback.  I was also thinking maybe we could draft the top 6 or 7 then the teams would be filled with the same 5 "fluff" players for every team, which could/would be changing each of the 4 years.

Interest?  Too complicated?

Sounds interesting to me.  Only comment from me is that, since the cap can be used over 4 seasons, you could not determine how your team is really performing/progressing unless you look at the salary structure of the other teams in the league.  Won-loss records of individual season would loose some significance.  Maybe a salary range of $48-$M52 per league would keep the teams more even but total cap still $200?  It is intriguing.

Ahhh, good idea...certainly something i'll look into/work on

I'd be interested if it wasn't a draft league.  Pick your squad of guys, make four teams using non-duplicate seasons at a $50M cap each, play it out and tabulate points according to wins and postseason success, determining the ultimate champion that way.  The draft is what turns me off.  I'm in enough player-exclusive leagues right now.  Good luck with this though!

Thanks ash...I've considered the non-draft format as well, my concern is that we'll see too many same/similar teams if we don't draft...certainly something I'll consider and probably do...doesn't look like this is going to take off anyhow, but I really do like the sliding cap, then you can use your $200 mil the way you like...again I'll put some more thought into it.

I agree with ash...many players might try to play a certain reasonable combo in season 1, but by the time season 2 or 3 rolls around yo uwould start to see some different takes on players.

I would go with either 5 or 6 seasons to create more difficulty with the salary and player seasons format.
