I have Christy Mathewson 1909 in a 4-man rotation. He has been at or below 95% for at least three rotation cycles now and I have even had to put in irregular starters not because the team or staff overall needed rest but because only he did.
After his last start, last game, he is now at 71%
His real life stats: 292 IP, and 7.44 IP/G in 37 actual games pitched. Now, at 292 + 10% times 15 pitches/IP I come up with 4815 pitches he should be available for.
His SIM season stats: 23 games, 2483 pitches over 175 IP. Just over half the pitches he should have available in just over half the 41 games I projected that in a 4-man rotation he should pitch in. Which, with the 10% boost from the SIM, means he is right on track, or should be. Yet he is constantly fatigued.
Again, his pitch count should come to 117/G so I had him set initially for TPC 115 and MPC 120, which I have lowered twice over the past two rotations and is now at 100 and 105 right before his last start.
Still fatigued. What am I missing?
This is a pitcher that should be available for a 3-man without that much stress, why in a 4-man should he be tired at all ?
