Poor defender in Man-to-man Topic

I rarely recruit players that are poor defenders and don't have the potential to become at least decent defenders, but I'm interested in one player who is going to be a great shooter (potential of 90+ PER, 70 BH, 85-90 SPD), but his DEF probably won't get into the 30s. I wouldn't expect to ever start him, but he could be a good offensive weapon.

I want to believe that his asset as an offensive weapon will be higher than his liability as a defender. What are people's thoughts on this? I currently don't want to show the profile of this player since I am currently recruiting him. This is also a D2 school.

I wouldn't personally sign a guy like that unless he could put up CPOY type numbers offensively.

From one of my D2 teams, I had a similar player who shot 50.2% from 3 and averaged 12.7 PPG in only 15.3 Min/G. That's obviously very efficient, but that was a team that ran a zone defense and I don't know if that production is greater than what he would be giving up on the defensive end on average.

I'd recruit him, almost every team has some guys set at 0 Distro.   Just make sure he is in that spot.

Plus with a 90 SPEED and even a 60 ATH a 30 DEF isn't the end of the world...how many 60-60-60 guards do you see in DII?
