What stats makes a good post defender?

I generally look for ATH and DEF.   I figure speed has some factor in the equation for PF but none at C.  The only other thing I can think of is SB?  

How much is that worth compared to the other two?  A third?  More?

Am I missing something?

Stamina too to a downgraded extent compared to ATH and DEF for big men and speed for 1-4 (mainly guards though).

shot blocking is huge for posts, particularly in the zone where I'd rate it above DEF, I'd call them similar in man, and in the press SB is maybe worth between 1/2 and 2//3 of DEF.

Wow, that much?

I guess each block is probably "worth" about 1.2 points or something like that.

THing is, does it do 'altered shots' - in other words, aside from there being a specific, numeric, block showing up on the stat sheet, does the block rating influence the chance of shots hitting?

There was a time when the play-by-play indicated a shot was altered. It hasn't been in the play-by-play for many seasons now. So it's up to more smarter coaches than me to figure out if shots are altered by shot blocking ability.

According to the FAQ it does:

Shot Blocking (BLK) Affects ability to block shots, including altering shots, which reduces opponent shooting.

does anyone know when the last time faq was updated? there's a ton of dated info that's no longer applicable, so relying on the faq is risky, at best.
