DITR loses points? Topic

Anyone see this before?

Jesse Evert gets a DITR bump, some decent bumps in most cases, but his P4 DROPS 4 points?

Does no one care because the guy will never be a BLer?

Is it something not very unusual, so people just think I am ignorant for not knowing this is fairly common?

Or do I need to check my deodorant?

DITR complaint burnout.   Or your body odor.

There's actually something to be learned with this.   DITR always get better.   That's the point.   Your guy lost 4 points on his last pitch, 22 rated, but gained 2 points on his 16 3rd pitch.

I gather from this that 22 is BAD but that pitchers will only drop their last pitch.

To summarize, if you have a pitcher with a 22 rated pitch, it's hurting his value.

It isn't a complaint.
I could care less what ever happens to Mr. Evert, (no offense Jesse), however I had never seen anything like this and it piqued my curiosity.

So if I understand correctly, you are saying DITR always get better, meaning that in an attempt to get better the reduction was a failed attempt at dropping the pitch?

But if 22 is BAD, isn't 18 worse?

When you CAPITALIZE a word like LOSE, it looks like a complaint.

You semi-understand me correctly.   Yes, 18 is worse but that's not the last pitch.   I'm assuming pitchers will only drop their last pitch not their worst pitch.    And, yes, that was an effort to speed the process of dropping that last pitch.

Honestly if my DITR are not going to be ML players I ignore them completly so I may have had a guy do something like this and would never know.

You won't know for many seasons whether the attempt to drop the pitch was failed or not. And if he's a pile of warmed over crap like most DITR, he'll never see a good enough Pitching Coach to find out whether the drop was enough to ditch the pitch.

I've never really noticed because I'm not sure if I've ever had a pitcher drop one, but when a pitch gets dropped, does it happen in-season or during rollover?

Dropped pitches are like bigfoot sightings. I've never seen one but I know somebody who knew somebody who heard somebody say it happened.

If you've been following the forums, you'd see them preiodically.  They're the ones in the posts in which a current OVR is higher than a projected OVR.  That's pretty much always due to a dropped 5th pitch.
