New RS logic works Topic

A kid who I tried to redshirt 20 times as a freshman, didnt play a minute, said no every time - just said YES as a soph.  I am confident that it was the new RS process.  He's probably our 11th best player.

Now, he wont ever be great but with an extra season he will play three seasons with very nice IQ which should help make him useful.

Why wouldn't a player like this transfer? I know WIS is not real life, but no player would go to Bama, be completely healthy and not play a minute then come back the next year and take a RS... if that was the case he would have done it last year and been able to play this year.

mets must be posting from work using the whatif.cinncy url ;)

Interesting - guy could get some minutes at a mid - major program, but his lack of LP makes that even a bit tough. Does he have high LP potential?

I've actually done this under the old logic. So I'm not sure how much the new logic had to do with this occurence.

That is absolutely not true ... there are guys on Kentucky's team that do not see any playing time and redshirt as non freshmen and don't leave.

Here is a guy who played as a Freshman, Red Shirted as a Sophomore, played very minimally as a SO/3 and JR/4:

Twany Beckham

There are guys, who are not as good as the stars and they know it, who would have no issues Redshirting as a Sophomore.  It probably would not happen at Cleveland State ... but it certainly could happen at UK, Duke, Kansas, UNC, etc.
