This trade is proposed to me right now and I'm wondering what your guys's opinions are. 

I would be getting http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=1888373.  He is willing to resign at $6.5M for two years.  Other guy is willing to pay $2.5M this year. 

I would be giving up http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=4130366.  He isn't in my long term plans because I have a better prospect at that position. 

I would also be giving up http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=4340128.  His two 90+ pitches make me think he might be a pretty valuable long reliever and spot starter with his 60 stamina. 

I'm leaning towards doing it, but want to know if I'm missing anything. 

Also worth mentioning I'm 60-39 and 1GB division leader.  1 game ahead in wild card.  The guy he would be replacing in RF is http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=5036165.  He will be a good player, but he's playing out of necessity right now. 

I'm snap accepting that deal if I'm you. We can't see your projections, but based on the fact that the pitcher was a supplemental pick and his control will never be great, I wouldn't be too upset to give him up. Other prospect is a dime a dozen. The guy you're trading for, especially getting him for 3 years, is a lot better than either one of those guys will ever be.

That's what I thought, too, but I didn't want to be overlooking something.  I made another trade a while back that I "thought" was pretty good and turned out everyone hated it.  Now I'm a little gunshy.  Just accepted, hopefully this guy will catapult me to a good finish.

Looks to me you're getting the greatest deal that ever was.  I have to assume that the other guy is trying to cut payroll, otherwise this deal makes no sense at all.  A HOFer for a bottom-of-the-barrel LF and a AA pitcher... Actually, if I were in your world, I would probably veto this trade because it looks like you're taking advantage of the new guy.

But then I guess --you-- are the new guy.

Lol, that's why I thought I was missing something.  He could be trying to cut payroll, but this is the last year of his contract so even if he's saving money this year what can he really use it for since all the good free agents are gone?  I suppose he could transfer the extra to sign some IFA, but he still loses half of it. 

I got had in a previous trade and am gunshy now so I didn't want to mess up again. Thanks for the reply.
