Recruiting vs sim Topic

Hey all.. so if im in d3 and a d2 sim team is on my recruit.  what would i have to do in order to pull him down to me?  This is someone that i put no effort into at all b/c the previous coach had scouted him last year so he immediately was considering me on day 1 but also has a d2 sim team attached to him.  its probably not worth the time/effort/money but was just curious

**edit** i have an A prestige and the D2 sim is a D.. if that helps/matters...

How close is he to you?  In my experience a D2-level prospect won't generally go D3 if a D2 school is interested...

As an A prestige D3, you shouldn't have much respect for D2 simmys (even less so for D3 simmy).  If the word on the street has a *high priority* type message, then you should think carefully about messing with it.  But otherwise, simmy is easy enough to take players from.

You used the words "pull down", so I take it he's on your D2 search right now?

I agree with Spasticity. If I have a good D3 program and see a D2 player that lists me as a backup option that has a D2 SIM on him, I will wait until Word on the Street comes out. If he's open to other offers, he's not too hard to get. If he's very "tight" or "solid", I have learned by experience that it may be a big waste of money to try to get them.

At d3 I've taken recruits from d2 sims, at d2 from d1 sims. You have to pick your targets right, but yeah, you can win.
