So I got this message last cycle:

I've really heard some good things about Colorado recently - give me a ring when you have a chance - I'd really like to catch up.

-Player

Then I send a campus visit, but he rejected it. This same thing happened with another recruit. From what I can remember, I don't think I've ever had a recruit reject a CV after sending me a drop-down message. My school is a C- prestige team and both of these guys are already considering other D3 schools. Is this something new? Thanks in advance for the help

the 2 other schools are higher prestige than you.  that's why you got shut out.

Similar experience: I just had a player reject a home visit right after he sent me a drop down message.  My prestige is B+ and he's currently not considering any other schools.  If his drop down message was a practical joke, I'm calling shenanigans.

Any suggestions?

send a call and/or calls and/or a letter along with a CV or HV.  Even in D1 kids reject a CV or HV occasionally, so perhaps it's just poor luck in these cases for you guys.

I've had it happen a couple times that he'd reject the CV or HV the cycle that he drops down. I just resend it the next cycle and he always takes it then. It probably just means he dropped enough to fall to your DIII list, but not quite enough that he wants to hear from your school.
