I'm thinking about getting into sim basketball. I read the extremely helpful "guide" type posts. I just put together an exhibition team and wanted to see what you all thought of my thought process
83-84 Bernard King: my favorite season of my favorite player, I was including him no matter what. That being said, 6 usage points and a eFG of 57 make him seem like a decent centerpiece to my offense.
99-10 Tim Duncan: good defense, ridiculous percentages (eFG, O and D Red, assist). This seems like a guy who should be on a lot of teams. I'll start him at PF and play him at center when Camby sits.
06-07 Marcus Cambus: doesn't add much on offense, but defense, rebounds and blocks are all very nice.
07-08 Raja Bell: more good defense and a high Per% to open things up for King and Duncan
06-07 Chauncy Billups: good assist % and low turnovers for a point guard
Those are my starters. Backups are
11-12 Iman Shumpert: will pick up the sg/pg minutes. Good defense. I feel like I could find someone better for this spot.
99-00 PJ Brown: will play mostly power forward as Duncan slides to C when Camby sits. Good defense, ok rebounding and eFG%
90-91 Xavier McDaniel, 86-87 Bernard King: worse versions of the 83-84 King to back him up.
07-08 Jamaal Magliore, 11-12 Damion Jones, 98-99 Lee Mayberry: guys I'd drop for rookies in a real league, will play 3 minutes each in an exhib season.
Is that an ok team? Any spots where my thinking is way off? I think I have between 12-15 usage points at all times.
