was trying to make a tough pass. no really, in this sim engine, players have a very small % chance of throwing the ball out of bounds, and it can strike at any time.

Right, because no one, ever, has committed a turnover in the last five seconds of a game in real life.  I'd definitely send in a ticket and ask CS to show you an example of that EVER happening.  I've been watching basketball for a number of years and I can honestly say that I can't recall one instance, not one, of a player committing a turnover that late in the game.  I would be absolutely irate if I were you.

He was shaving points.

Haha, yeah. There are so many real life endings that, if they happened in HD, would result in "THIS IS SO UNREALISTIC I QUIT" forum rants.

This is my favorite, picking it up with under a minute to go with the score Pittsburgh 69, Butler 68.

:09 - Pittsburgh Turnover.
:03 - Andrew Smith made layup. Butler 70, Pitt 69.
:01 - Shelvin Mack fouls Gilbert Brown in the backcourt
:01 - Gilbert Brown made free throw. Butler 70, Pitt 70.
:01 - Gilbert Brown missed free throw
:01 - Matt Howard defensive rebound
:01 - Nasir Robinson fouls Matt Howard in the backcourt
:01 - Matt Howard made free throw. Butler 71, Pitt 70
:01 - Matt Howard missed free throw
:01 - Brad Wanamaker defensive rebound

GAME END - Butler 71, Pittsburgh 70.

If that happened in HD Pittsburgh's coach would give us one of the greatest forum rants of all time.

Are you even serious? It happens in every game. A guy is standing still his teammate spots him, throws a pass and as he starts the pass motion the still player starts to cut the pass goes into the stands, or a guy goes to make a cross court pass but throws it too high, or he's double-teamed can't do anything, panics and makes a bad pass that ends up out of bounds, or.... Never mind you get the point.

North Carolina won an NCAA tournament when, at the end of the game, a Georgetown player threw the ball to an UNC player.  That's far worse than throwing it out of bounds.  Kentucky won this year when a Kansas player started to shoot but changed his mind, leading to a traveling call. How often do you see that at the end of a game?

I think throwing it out of bounds happens alot during a game.  You're expecting a teammate to move but he doesn't. So your pass goes out of bounds.  Does it happen less often at the end of a game?  It's hard to say...we're talking about a 5-second time frame.   Does it happen more between the 14:25 and 14:20 span in the first half?

But, looking at the variables...1) fatigue: 2) pressure; 3) screaming fans.... I wouldn't be surprised if it happens more at the end of a game.

Also, the play-by-play doesn't always describe the exact details. Do it go off a teammates hand before going out of bounds? Or did it go out untouched.?

yes but did it say he was double teamed no and if someone tipped the ball then it would still be my ball and it was not a cross court pass because it was thrown out of bounds in the back court i dnt have a problem with something like one of the examples you said but they should tell me one of those things happend not that he just threw the ball out of bounds

Well if you picture it as him catching the ball, turning, and launching it in to the stands sure that might be a little unrealistic but a missed connection on a pass is not. Maybe the guy he was trying to pass to had his head turned and wasn't expecting the outlet, or maybe the passer wasn't looking and threw it where he thought the guy was but the other guy was already down the court. Players make stupid plays all the time in RL. No reason to not expect it in HD too.
