Icon Progressive - 4 for 1980 (HOU, MIN, CAL, OAK) Topic

The 2nd Team Icon league is entering 1980 and we need four new owners. The Astros, Twins, Angels and Athletics are open. The basic premise is that you can only draft (or trade for) players who played for your team at some point in their career. Anyone who played their entire career for your team you get automatically without having to draft them. Let me know if you have any questions.

OK, level with me. Needing 4 owners and with not much activity, is this a league in trouble, or is there a plan to get going quickly?

I love the Icon concept, but too many progressives lately are getting stuck in down time.

I'd be up for taking Houston, but hopefully this is up and running soon.

The Icon leagues are pretty strong. They might take awhile to find good replacements but they will fill. I am willing to take one of the AL teams and if you take the Astros that will only leave us with two more openings. I will do my best to find owners for the the last two.

Anyone else?

This is a unique league. I've been in it since the beginning, and I'm not really sure why it's been so hard to fill this season. Crazy does a good job running it, the concept allows you to have a great chance at playing with familiar players from a favorite team, and the work of drafting is much easier since there are much fewer players to choose from.

I will propose this:
I will take Oakland along with Houston because the other Icon seems a ways away from moving forward right now.  Therefore, you only need to find one owner willing to take on an open franchise with crazyjoe taking the other.

I say upfront that I do not intend to go long term with the A's.  Once (if) the other Icon gets going, I do not want to run 4 franchises.  However, while I am with them here, they will get my best effort to leave them healthy for whoever has them next.
