I offered my first round pick the bonus he was asking for. His reply was that he thinking about returning to school to get his degree and would let me know if anything changes.  Then I withdrew the offer to use the money to sign another player.  Did I forfeit my compensation pick by withdrawing the offer?

If he doesnt sign and decides to return to school, you'll get the offered money back.
