Rules:
i) The 12 owners in the Eastern Conference and the 12 owners in the Western Conference will each hold their own 12 person snake style draft.
ii) The draft pool for each conference contains all players in the WIS database for each.
iii) Drafted players are exclusive within each conference. As such, there may be two instances of any drafted player in the league. 1 per conference.
iv) We will draft 9 players. The final round will be 2 picks.
v) The final 3 roster spots are left to be filled with undrafted players (in your conference draft). There are no restrictions on these players. There are also no restrictions regarding starting lineups and/or playing time. You can make these selections either after the last owner in the draft selects or once the final timeslot expires. Any owners with missed picks after the final timeslot expires will not have exclusive rights to the players they take with those picks.
vi) The first 24 picks in each draft will be untimed with NO SKIPS.
vi) Once those picks are made a daily drafting schedule with 30 minute time slots will be made - running from 10 AM EST - 3:30 PM EST for the remaining rounds of drafting.
viii) Once timed drafting has begun if you miss your time slot the draft is free to run on without you until your NEXT timeslot.
ix) Draft Order: Random in season 1. Run with ODL like rules within each conference.
That is in each conference: Draft order (to select slots) is based on order of finish. (Last place from previous season can select the slot (1-12) they draft in. Each owner that follows (based on record, worst to first except playoff results) can select any slot not previously chosen. Playoff teams will select in reverse order of their playoff results. Each of the losers from the first round will be ordered by record (using WifS tie-breakers if necessary) to determine order to select slots. This is repeated each round until the playoffs end. New owners are slotted at the end of the slot selection process.
x) CONFERENCE ASSIGNMENT: Right around the all-star break of the current season, a post will be created and owners will be asked to confirm their commitment for the next season. After 2 weeks, any owners who have not confirmed will be considered as leaving and spots in the league will be advertised. Once we have owners for all 24 teams. Owners who have 2 teams will have one team placed in each conference. The remaining owners will be divided using random.org. I will put the names in a list randomizer and the top half of the names will go to the Eastern conference.. the bottom half to the West.
The Draft Order will then be determined within each conference based on the rules as previously described.
xi) NO ROOKIES or WW or Clones
xii) Even trades are ok. Uneven trades.. not.
xiii) There are no restrictions on your use of the players you select. You can use any season. You can start them or not play them at all. Your first round pick can have a 500k salary and your final pick can be 10 million... Whatever.
Draft Expectations:
Please try to sitemail ahead when you select. This keeps the draft moving. If you skip someone, it's not a bad idea to sitemail them that they have been skipped as well.
Remember, if you miss a pick it is your responsibility to make a selection ASAP. The draft WILL go on without you.
Use proxies if you know you can't make your timeslot.
You can expect that the draft board and alpha list will be updated nightly. During the day expect to have to read through the forum to see who has been selected since the night before.
A posted pick is final. No take-backs!
