If a player is willing to sign a long-term deal during the first-half of the season, is there any risk that he will change his mind at any point before the World Series?  If so, when?

In my experience, no.

There is no benefit to sign a player to a long-term deal during the regular season.

Isn't there a chance if you wait until the next season starts that they will not be willing to sign?  Talking about a player that has already arb'ed thrice.

I'm guessing that what burnsy meant was you should wait until after the regular season has completed (but before rollover).  You don't want to sign a guy to a LT deal and then have him suffer a massive ratings-hit injury in-season.

Thank you.  Do the terms ever change during the season?

never seen it change until after rollover.
